Urgent care facility to open in Greenport this year

Kaitlin Limbo is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media local residents are anticipating the opening of a new urgent care facility in Columbia County. The facility will be located in Widewaters Commons at Greenport. While Hudson has always had the benefit of having Columbia Memorial Hospital, the addition of an urgent care facility will be a welcome relief, said Greenport Town Supervisor Kathy Eldridge, who is also a registered nurse. “Urgent care is a much-needed medical facility in our area because it’s a major separation between the emergency room and things like the common cold,” Eldridge said. Urgent care is also more affordable than a hospital visit and the wait times are drastically less than a trip to the ER. The Greenport Building Department expects the building that will house the new facility to be completed in April. The building will also house an Aspen Dental office.
