Former Stockport town official Norma Kirker dies

ongtime Stockport town official Norma Kirker has died. The announcement was made Mar. 3, on the town's Facebook page by Columbia County Board of Supervisors Chairman, and Stockport Town Supervisor, Matt Murrell. Kirker was a lifelong resident of Stottville, where she and her husband raised eight children. She was a graduate of Hudson High School and studied accounting at Columbia-Greene Community College. Kirker served as a member of the Stockport Town Board from 1991 until 2015. "Today the town of Stockport lost a loyal and dedicated public servant, ... she will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Norma's family and friends. Town flags will be at half staff starting tomorrow through her burial," Murrell wrote.
