Ski slope in Prattsville set to open this weekend

Daniel Zuckerman is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media Bearpen Mountain in Prattsville will hold its grand opening January 13. Left abandoned since 1959, the mountain is now under the management of Howard Rennell and his daughter, Dominique. They will offer cross-country skiing, snowtubing, sledding, snowshoeing, ice skating and phat bicycle riding. The festivities Saturday will include free snow tubing, weather permitting, and more. Bearpen Mountain was once home to the Princeton Ski Bowl from 1955 to 1959 and was founded by Princeton University student Ben Lane.
