City tightens up on overdue water bills

John Mason reports in the Register Star under a law passed by the Hudson Common Council May 21, city residents will not have the freedom to put off paying water rents they currently enjoy. Bills more than 60 days old would now be added to the property tax bill in January of the following year. Mayor William H. Hallenbeck Jr. presided over a public hearing on the proposed legislation, Mon., June 10. No residents were present to comment on the law, which now goes to the Mayor for his signature.
