Greene legislators vote to exceed tax cap

Ariel Zangla in The Daily Freeman reports that the Greene County Legislature voted 12-0 Wed., Oct. 15 to exceed the tax levy cap for next year's budget. According to report, the lawmakers said the vote was a precaution, as they hope to present a budget within the state limit by Nov. 1. For 2015, Greene County can increase its property tax levy by 4.05 percent and still meet the state cap, County Administrator Shaun Groden said in the story. See the report at The Daily Freeman.
