Consolidation back on the table at Cairo-Durham

District consolidation was once again the focus of conversation for the Cairo-Durham Board of Education during the meeting held Thurs., June 19. Board member Gary Warner Jr. explained his wish to revisit the question of K-5 consolidation during the board's reorganization meeting, scheduled to take place on July 1. Consolidation would result in the closing of the Durham school building. PLAY (4:44). Cairo-Durham Board member elect Robert MacGiffert also spoke, making the observation that the bulk of board meetings focus on space and transportation, not the quality of education provided by the district.
