Ancram Town Hall begins to recycle

Feb 14, 2020 12:31 am
Diane Valden reports in the Columbia Paper that at the Jan. 16, 2020 meeting of the Ancram Town Board, Councilperson David Boice said that the Ancram Town Hall does not recycle. “This building does not recycle,” said Boice, saying that the Town Hall has one dumpster and “everything under the sun goes in it.” Paper collected through the County Clerk’s Keeping Identities of Seniors Safe program is shredded and taken elsewhere, possibly recycled. Since that meeting, there are now blue containers for recycling in the Ancram Town Hall, with a separate dumpster outside for recyclables. And Ancram officials have also spent money on recycled toilet paper and paper towels and environmentally-friendly cleaning supplies. Read more about this story in the Columbia Paper.
