Billy Shannon reports in the Register Star President Barack Obama easily won a mock election held in the Taconic Hills Central School District, Tues., Oct. 23. Students in grades seven through 12 cast votes throughout the day. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and Rep. Chris Gibson easily won their respective races. In an exit poll completed by a quarter of the voters the overwhelming majority supported the Obama health-care plan, same sex marriage and believed insurance companies should be required to cover birth control.
