C-GCC appoints Cairo resident as new athletic director

Cairo resident Nicolas Dyer has been named Columbia-Greene Community College Athletic Director, the college announced this week. Dyer has been employed by the Columbia-Greene Athletic Department since 2010, first as the Assistant Baseball Coach and in 2013, as head coach. He most recently served as the school's Assistant Director of Athletics. As director, Dyer is responsible for overseeing the college's Athletic Department, as well as its five varsity teams: men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, and soccer. He will also direct the Athletic and Activities Department work plans, manage both the indoor and outdoor athletic facilities and serve as chair of the Athletic Taskforce. He previously worked at Salem International University in Salem, WV, Southern Vermont College in Bennington, and as a security officer for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dyer succeeds Richanna Lindo, who left Columbia-Greene to become Associate Director of Athletics for Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Fla.
