Oct 20, 2015 12:03 am
Melanie Lekocevic is reporting in The Daily Mail Coxsackie-Athens school district officials and the board of education are currently discussing options for possible capital improvement projects. Some options include upgrading security measures, such as installing new locks, fire alarms, an improved telephone system and cameras. Parking lot changes at both campuses is another possible project, including a change to how traffic flows through the lots, widening sidewalks and adding additional parking spaces. There is also the possibility of renovating the athletic fields, as well as interior spaces at the high school. If officials decide to proceed with a capital project, the proposal could be included on a special ballot that would go before the district voters in December. If approved by the voters and the New York State Education Department, the project could go out to bid as early as the spring of 2017. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
