Scenic byway designation moves forward

Oct 26, 2012 8:47 am
Kyle Adams reports in the Windham Journal the Mountain Cloves Scenic Byway project has been approved by the state Scenic Byways Advisory Council. The project designates a 41-mile corridor linking Platte Clove Road with sections of Route 23A and Route 214 as a New York State Scenic Byway. The corridor passes through the town and village of Hunter and Tannersville. The designation will allow for special protections and federal funding for improvements and preservation. The designation must next be approved by the state Legislature, and then signed by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo. The measure is not expected to meet any resistance, according to Adams.
