Audio Feature: Greenport Planning Board Dec. 27 workshop and regular meetings
The Greenport Planning Board met in Greenport Town Hall, Tue., Dec. 27. On the agenda was the application for proposed changes to the South Bay haul road submitted by A. Colarusso & Sons. The board is serving as lead agency for the SEQR process. During the workshop meeting, the board indicated the overview contained in Colarusso's application was incomplete, and a session was scheduled with the company representative to develop a clearer narrative for use by both the Greenport and Hudson planning boards and the public. No public comment was permitted during the meeting. Turnout was standing room only, with a line of people out the door. Residents of Hudson are urging the board to conduct an Environmental Impact Study to assess the impact on street traffic, air quality, the train crossing, the river, the wetlands and general quality of life in the city's South Bay area.
