The Daily Freeman reports that unemployment rates in Mid-Hudson and Catskills counties were about the same from October 2016 to October 2017. The state Department of Labor released unemployment figures Nov. 20, with Columbia County with the best rate in the state, a 3.4 percent figure, down from 3.5 a year ago. Greene County was at 4.6 percent, up from 4.5 percent in October, 2016. Both Ulster County, at 4.2 percent, and Dutchess County, at 4.1 percent, were unchanged from a year ago. Delaware County's rate, 4.8 percent, was also unchanged. Statewide, the jobless rate in October was 4.6 percent, down from 4.8 percent in October 2016. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
