The Daily Freeman is reporting Greene County's annual household hazardous waste collection event will take place 8 a.m. to noon, Sat., June 14. Old oil-based paint, pesticides and other environmentally hazardous items that cannot be disposed of at the county’s transfer stations can be brought to the event for disposal. The event will take place at the Greene County Highway Department facility at Scott Lane, off State Route 9W in Athens. Proof of residency is required.
