Bethany Bump reports in The Albany Times-Union that on Jan. 30 Albany's school board became the latest to urge the U.S. Senate to not confirm Betsy DeVos as the next U.S. education secretary. Kingston, Schenectady, and Onteora have passed similar resolutions opposing the nomination. On Jan. 31 the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions voted two times 12-11 along party lines to send her nomination to the full Senate.
