Officials push for Stewart National Guard Base to be site of new squadron

MidHudsonNews [dot] com is reporting US Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand and U.S. Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney June 16, renewed their call for the US Air Force and Air National Guard to station the newest Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron at the Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh. The base is home to the 105th Airlift Wing. The Stewart base is one of seven under consideration for the new facility. “Stewart Air National Guard Base has continuously proven that they have the capabilities and resources needed to serve as the ANG’s next Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron,” said Gillibrand. “During our country’s health crisis, they have served as an invaluable asset in New York’s fight against this pandemic.” Read the full story at MidHudsonNews [dot] com.
