Participants will build on basic itajime shibori techniques and explore additional surface design methods that utilize pole wrapping, stitching, pleating, and binding to create shibori patterns. The techniques learned in this class are more involved and intricate focusing more time on fabric manipulation rather then vat preparation. This class is for anyone regardless of prior experience, however basic hand-stitching skills are helpful to get the most out of this class.
