Falconry is the taking of wild quarry in its natural state and habitat by means of a trained raptor. On November 16, 2010 the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization added falconry to its list of Intangible Cultural Heritages of Humanity. This ancient art is very demanding. Max Zimmermann will join us to talk about how he became a falconer and show us his magnificent hunting partner. Please join us as we learn about the importance of our feathered friend and ways you can help preserve and protect habitats for these important predators.  Columbia County Soil and Water Conservation District (www.ccswcd.org) provides educational programs and services to help residents and communities manage and protect the natural resources of Columbia County.
