FERMENTATION FRIENDS! We’re back with a fun pot-luck style gathering at Culture Cream in Hudson at 318 Warren St on Wednesday, May 13th from 4-6pm. This event is a co-creation between Yesfolk, Wild Culture Kitchen, and of the air.

Bring home fermentation projects to share and taste! Feel free to bring starters to share and swap too! This is a fun and friendly gathering. You don't need to be a pro at pickling or fermenting to bring something you're excited about. You don't even have to bring anything if you'd just like to meet some folks and taste some funky food and bevs.

Local Waves at The Local is a new free series at The Local curated by Mike Amari/Chosen Family in partnership with Wave Farm's WGXC featuring Hudson Valley artists performing original music.

Pocket Merchant is a Hudson Valley-based jazz and improvisation group.

When all the music ever created is a swipe away on your phone, it's easy to miss the incredible original artists who are making and releasing music right here in the Hudson Valley. This series will serve as an expansion of the Local Waves radio show I co-created with WGXC (which plays all new, local music every Friday 8pm) to further highlight these acts with a free, monthly concert in a fantastic venue at The Local. Wildflower expert Chris Schiralli returns to celebrate the peak of spring at the Huyck Preserve with a gentle walk in search of some of our favorite flowers.

The FASNY Museum of Firefighting in Hudson, NY, on May 16th, 2026, from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm hosts: Maker May Balloon Blowout! Visit the balloon bar to pick your colors and create amazing balloon art! You can choose from three spring-inspired projects—do one, try them all, or go freestyle. With party music and colorful lighting, this will be the balloon event of the year!

The Mental Health Association of Columbia Greene joins WGXC at the Catskill Studio for an open house for the community. Local mental health organizations will be present with information throughout the day, which will feature live broadcasts from Yeshi of "NORMLRadio" and Neva Wartell of "Music for the Masses".

Read + Hike Book Club is returning! Come discuss themes of ecology and humanity’s relationship with nature with other book and nature lovers in our reading and hiking club! Each month we will go on a leisurely hike with stopping points for book discussion. Some months will have guest lecturers. Participants may choose to come to all the meetings, some meetings, or just one!

A members-only look at the library of Shaker Museum. Available only to members, these behind-the-scenes tours offer a close-up look at the museum’s comprehensive collection of archival documents, rare books, and more. This tour is free for members but limited to eight participants, so be sure to reserve your place early.
