Learn various Qigong sets and then work on a traditional Tai Chi Form – a set series of movements and postures – with instructor Curt Anthon, a member of the Yang Family Tai Chi Association. All are welcome!

In this month’s Little Wonders Storytime, Mr. Purple will read The Pout-Pout Fish by Deborah Diesen, and he’ll lead a puffer fish reaction activity! Kids will explore emotions through the story, then observe a fun baking soda and vinegar reaction inside a balloon that “puffs up” like a puffer fish!

Yoga for Gardening with Pamela Martin at the Mountain Top Arboretum.

Sessions run Wednesdays from June 11- October 8; Class is from 3:15-4:15 (feel free to join us beforehand for volunteer gardening!)

You're welcome to join us for outdoor* yoga classes led by Pamela Martin and other local yoga teachers. Learn tips and tricks to avoid injury, and to help support the body during gardening and yard work. A stretch and strength class appropriate for multiple levels. Please bring a mat, water, sunscreen and bug spray. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in.

* in case of inclement weather, sessions will take place indoors in the Education Center.

This program starts just after our garden volunteering ends. Please feel free to join us for volunteer gardening.

All are welcome to join us this summer for fun and friendly in-person Spanish language sessions! These casual monthly meet-ups will provide you with an opportunity to practice speaking conversational Spanish, facilitated by our instructor Sonia Cintron. All skill levels are welcome.

All are welcome to join garden writer, photographer, and eco-friendly designer Karen Bussolini to learn how to design wildlife-friendly pollinator habitats disguised as beautiful gardens. There is a growing awareness that pollinators are important, and that they’re in trouble. We know that pollinators need flowers and that they are responsible for much of the food we eat, but we’re maybe a little vague on the details. Pollinators, particularly insect pollinators, do need flowers – lots of flowers, and the right kinds of flowers – so diversity and quantity are big factors. But let’s back up a bit. Why are there flowers in the first place? And for that matter, why are there fruits and berries? Surely they didn’t evolve just for human pleasure and sustenance. There’s more to it, and it’s a fascinating story of interrelationships.

Some pollinators are better at the job than others, just as some flowers are more valuable food sources. Bees and other insects are key – they give a snapshot of the health of the entire ecosystem. Like all living things, they need good habitat – nesting places, resting places, hibernation sites, mating opportunities, food and water, in a non-toxic environment.

This is not a bee i.d. presentation, its about best plants and practices. Gardeners are uniquely able to support the entire life cycle of beneficial insects and other pollinators. Good plant choices and land care, coupled with simple awareness of the living world buzzing all around us make all the difference. After all, we’re not just cultivating flowers, we’re cultivating habitat.

The Catskill Merchants Association, with support from Cultivate Catskill, is proud to announce the inaugural Summer Solstice Celebration on Main Street in Catskill! Building on the tremendous success of the village's winter solstice event, this extended evening celebration will feature a variety of family-friendly activities to welcome the summer season. The event will transform Main Street into a pedestrian-only celebration zone from the northern corner down to the Bridge Street light, with Church Street also closed to vehicular traffic. Main Street businesses will extend their hours until at least 8pm, offering special activities and unique shopping experiences!

CREATE Council will be hosting award ceremonies to celebrate the wonderful artists and arts organizations in Greene, Columbia and Schoharie Counties! Attending an award ceremony is a great way to meet creatives and community members that are passionate about the arts. Award ceremonies are open to the public.
