Cornell Cooperative Extension of Columbia and Greene Counties is accepting applications for its Master Gardener Training program. The 12-week course begins March 2. The program empowers individuals to become community gardening leaders. Participants will embark on a hybrid learning experience, combining virtual coursework and in-person meetings and excursions, covering basic botany to nuisance wildlife, and more. Training takes 12 weeks, from March 2 to June 1 (with breaks in April and May). In-person sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and include a lunch break. at the CCE offices in Hudson and Acra. Blueberry is songwriter/producer Gwen Snyder Siegal, based in Saugerties. Her glam dance band has provided the New York City downtown music scene with a fair helping of glittery funk groove and has now traveled up river to shake the trees of the Hudson Valley and instigate a misty mountain hop with Kenny Siegal on bass; Otto Hauser on drums; Jay Collins on sax, and other special guests. Les Freqs will play with the live band and spin vinyl too.

Dave Muska of Ondatra Adventures will introduce participants to the fundamentals of wildlife tracking and awareness. The class will cover basic tracking skills and concepts such as clear print identification, gaits and track pattern analysis, as well as techniques in wildlife tracking. All skill levels are welcome. Depending on conditions, snowshoes may be helpful and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Crampons are recommended if trails are icy. Registration is required. The Claverack Free Library is pleased to present David Donaldson and Marc Shulman in concert. Donaldson and Shulman have performed together for 50 years. Donaldson writes and sings original material. He has appeared at The Bitter End in New York City, area folk festivals, and coffeehouses throughout the region and recorded as a vocalist and on guitar. Shulman has toured and recorded extensively with Suzanne Vega, Patty Larkin, Michael Franks, Richard Shindell, and others.
