The “Wildflowers” collective showcase includes notable local artists such as Marc Swanson, Laetitia Hussain, Rodney Alan Greenblat, Richard Scott, and Jordan Baker alongside emerging artists Enmi Yang, Lou Thorne, and Isaiah Hayden. The show has been co-curated by Catskill and culture enthusiast Michele Saunders along with local artist Jerami Goodwin.

Hub New Music and guests Adam Tendler (piano) and Ayano Kataoka (percussion) present a program of visceral, colorful works utilizing a vast array of instruments and objects. Exploring memory and evoking a deep sense of place, the program centers visionary composers who have discovered vast new landscapes of sound in the world around them. Brewed specially for the audience, PS21’s annual House Blend chamber music series features celebrated soloists and ensembles in programs of cutting edge new music and bold works of the past. With genre-defying collaborations that can only be experienced at PS21, we invite listeners to experience vital music in stimulating new ways. CREATE Council On The Arts + Re-Rack Gym partnered to commission local artist Jerami Goodwin to produce a public mural in celebration of creativity in Catskill. Come and meet the artist, enjoy light refreshments and music.

“Seeds Under Nuclear Winter: An Earth Opera" is a recreation of spiritual visions, dreams, and stories through world and sacred music, performance art, movement, and light experiments, shared within an immersive and multi-sensory community experience. The Earth Opera takes place in a post-apocalyptic atmosphere, and centers around finding light, beauty, and hope in the darkest times--and on our deep connection with all living things, our planet, and with each other. 
Orchestrated for harps, ethereal voices, South American/Andean instruments, Indonesian gamelan, strings, choir, drones, dulcimer, piano, gongs, waterphone, and a cast of 31 Hudson Valley performing artists, the 'Earth Opera’ steps into otherworldly realms and unfolds upon a non-linear and timeless path, similar to the way we dream. 
Held in the Widow Jane Mine, there will be two performances, Saturday, Aug 26th and Sunday, 27th at 3pm.

The large-scale body of work transforms visions, dreams, and spiritual experiences into a completely immersive experience for both audience and cast, set INSIDE of the earth in The Widow Jane Mine—a vast and earthen womb-like natural amphitheater. Written by Elizabeth Clark, the Earth Opera was composed and developed within the quiet mountain sanctuary and artist retreat of Byrdcliffe Artists Colony in Woodstock NY over the course of a three year artist residency. The Machine Live will perform “The Wall” album in its entirety. A family-friendly event, attendees are invited to bring their own chairs and blankets. No outside food or beverages are allowed on site. The concert will happen rain or shine. The Machine Live has forged a 30+ year reputation of extending the musical legacy of Pink Floyd. The New York-based quartet performs a diverse mix of Floyd's 16-album repertoire, complete with renditions of popular hits as well as obscure gems.

An evening of movement and play, wearing a mask of a nature being who calls to you, as we gather to explore and embody our connection to the magic, wisdom and spirit of nature in Kingston Rotary Park.

William Tyler is a guitarist who plays "cosmic country," folk, indie folk, and pop rock. Previously, he was a member of Lambchop and Silver Jews. Garcia Peoples includes Copake's P.G. Six.

The Columbia County Veterans Committee will honor Tech/Sgt Jack Hallenbeck. The public is invited.

Families living in Columbia County with children ages three and under are invited to attend this monthly play and parent support group at the Hudson Area Library. Each session will focus on a new discussion topic for parents, and play activities for the children. Stop by to gather parenting resources, ask questions, and enjoy a peer support space! (Takes place on the fourth Monday of each month) Location: In person, Hudson Area Library Community Room Registration: Registration is not required.

Participants will learn various Qigong sets and then work on a traditional Tai Chi Form, a set series of movements and postures. The sessions are intended to be a gentle practice that enhances coordination, balance, and circulation. No registration is required. Open to the public.

What’s it like being a Barbie Girl in a not-so-Barbie world? Bridge Street Theatre presents the East Coast premiere of Walton Beacham’s racous, hilarious, and surprisingly touching “I Am Barbie,” August 31-September 10. An immersive, multi-media performance installation of aerial acrobatics, photography, and projected video, and electronic music by Noémie Goudal and Maelle Poesy. Fresh from the Venice Biennale 2023 and Tate Modern, ANIMA alters our perspectives on the “sensation of time” and the pace and effects of climate change. An immersive multidisciplinary installation by French visual artist/photographer Noémie Goudal, theater director Maëlle Poésy, circus artist Chloé Moglia, and composer Chloé Thévenin, Anima sits at the crossroads of visual, photographic, musical, video, and scenic arts. The work is grounded in the artists' interest in recent discoveries in paleoclimatology, the study of ancient climate, whereby researchers are able to make projections about the future based on the metamorphoses and mutations that occurred in the distant past. These extreme mutations of terrestrial topography are imperceptible to the human gaze. Through the medium of images of palm trees, rocks, caves, and water in continual metamorphosis projected onto a triptych of giant screens, Goudal and Poésy confront the viewer with an experience of human impermanence. Thevenin’s music, a mix of electronics and recordings of sounds of flowing water, winds, and wildlife coalesces with the images to create a sense of the fragility of landscapes, the power of the elements, and the vertiginous nature of time.
