The exhibition will highlight the works of Maureen Bagshaw, Shelley Davis, Ashley Garrett, Heide Hatry, Bruce Hopkins, Connie Frisbee Houde, Philip Howie, Ellen Levinson, Claudia McNulty, Ricardo Mulero, Kevin Nordstrom, Linda Psomas, Elaine Scull, Meryl Shapiro, Susan Togut, Sheila Trautman, Claudia Waruch, and Brian Wood.
Do you appreciate folk art a la Grandma Moses? If the answer is "yes," you won't want to miss the paintings of Allen Foster. Foster has been professionally recreating Columbia County village scenes and individual historic homes for over half a century. As he nears his 90th birthday, some of Allen’s work is now on display through March 1 in the recently dedicated Meeting Room of the Kinderhook Memorial Library. Local residents throughout the county have generously loaned their paintings of Kinderhook scenes and Columbia County homes; works from Mr. Foster's private collection round out the show. For more information and hours of operation, visit the Library’s website: info@kinderhooklibrary.org

In conjunction with the launch of WGXC's new sound and new program schedule in 2019, we are pleased to announce an open call for a Station Soundmark[1]. This brief station sonic identification--an audio earworm--will air with intense frequency on Wave Farm's WGXC 90.7-FM and online radio stream.
Submissions should be no longer in duration than 45 seconds, and embody the idea of "Radio for Open Ears" in any interpretation.
Email your submission(s) to info@wavefarm.org, no later than Thursday, March 6, 2019.
The selected submission will be announced on March 9, 2019 at the WGXC's Eighth Anniversary Party, featured in a dedicated email announcement, and credited prominently on the Wave Farm WGXC website.
[1] Soundmark: This is derived from the term landmark. A soundmark is a sound which is unique to an area. In his 1977 book, "The Soundscape: Our Sonic Environment and the Tuning of the World," R. Murray Schafer wrote, "Once a Soundmark has been identified, it deserves to be protected, for soundmarks make the acoustic life of a community unique." p. 10. ISBN 978-089281455-8.
