Djam Gong performs original music on Balinese gamelan instruments such as: gongs, flutes, drums, and metal percussion. Djam Gong is Bill Ylitalo's musical project, incorporating Balinese gamelan instruments along with occasional Western instruments such as electronic effects and saxophone. The players include: Bill Ylitalo, Brian Farmer, Chris Andersen, and others. Djam Gong (gong time) is a musical ensemble from New York's Hudson Valley led by composer and multi-instrumentalist, Bill Ylitalo. Bill has studied and performed gamelan music for 40 years and is currently the director of the Balinese Gamelan Program at Bard College. Happens on the Third Floor.

One and all are invited to ring in the New Year with WGXC at the Half Moon in Hudson! Our sixth annual fundraising bash starts off with karaoke hosted by Amanda Lees, followed by dancing to the music of Blueberry (www.blueberrylounge.com) straight into 2019. Then, DJ Var (WGXC’s “Friday Night Vibes Session”) takes control into the wee hours. Your $10-$20 (sliding scale) contribution at the door benefits WGXC 90.7-FM. Food will be available all night from the Taste of India food truck, with a portion of food sales also to benefit WGXC. The entire event will be broadcast live on 90.7-FM and wgxc.org.
