Hudson Area Library is pleased to present “Living Poetry at the Library: Divya Victor/Cat Tyc.” This ​event represents an ongoing collaboration between Fence, a ​locally produced, ​nationally renowned literary ​press, and the Home ​School, an annual poetry conference that takes place ​in Hudson ​every summer and which brings more than 60 poets to meet, study, read, and write. ​This collaboration puts visiting poets and the Home School community in touch with our local community of readers and writers.​

The annual Medusa Village-Wide Garage Sales Day is August 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Church Hall, there will be maps of the location of sales, a huge rummage sale, food and drinks. The Museum of Medusa History will be opened in the Historical Church, located on CR 351. Medusa is in southern Albany County.

10th annual Wassaic Project Summer Festival.

The Huyck Preserve and Biological Research Station is hosting a round-table discussion about environmental monitoring led by experts in the field.

Games and entertainment including a water balloon toss, sack races, tug-o-war, painting on a rock craft, and more. Plus the sounds of Beercaps & Quarters, an Americana string band, and a demonstration of hydraulic rescue tools, including the Jaws of Life, with the Tivoli Fire Department. A lawn chair and salad or side dish to share welcomed. Presented by the village of Tivoli and Tivoli Free Library with help from the Tivoli Fire Department, Monumental Lodge #347, and the Harris-Smith Post of the American Legion.

The Art Omi Dance Residents will share works created in collaboration with each other at the Dance Showing, a public event that takes place annually near the completion of the three-week program. The residency emphasizes process over product, so the artists will present the fruits of their exchange in the form of unique pieces. Each year's iteration varies, but almost always involve site-specific performance events leading hundreds of visitors throughout Art Omi's campus.

Bridge Street Belly Dance returns to Catskill on August 4th at 7:30pm with a new program, featuring California-based artist Mira Betz. Through live dance, spoken word, and video projections, Mira and her colleagues share what it is that gives them the impetus to move.
