Rep. Paul Tonko is chair of the Climate Change Subcommittee of the Energy and Commerce Committee. His CLEAN Future act has been criticized for promoting several false climate solutions. Alexis Goldsmith of Beyond Plastics discusses with WOOC's Mark Dunlea the effort to urge Tonko to remove support from the incineration of municipal waste from the bill. And Rensselaer County Historian Kathy Sheehan spoke with WOOC's Melissa Bromley about some of the remarkable women who've lived here.

Hear everything you need to know for the day with "The WGXC Daily" at 5 a.m., with local headlines, weather, and community events. Also tune in national headlines from the Public News Service. That's followed by interviews with community leaders and personalities, reports on cultural issues, national headlines, radio art, a rundown of public meetings, local and regional events, radio news, with weather updates, and more about and for the community, made mostly through volunteers in the community through WGXC. Some reports come from our partner station, WOOC-LP in Troy, out of The Sanctuary for Independent Media, and the Public News Service in Albany. Philip Grant, Tim Light, Tom Roe, Lynn Sloneker, and others contribute to this show. At 5:15 a.m., on Sundays hear "Amateur Radio Newsline;" on Mondays hear "This Week in Amateur Radio;" on Tuesdays hear "ARRL Audio News;" on Wednesdays "Amateur Radio Newsline Headlines;" on Fridays "The Shortwave Report;" and on Saturdays "Glenn Hauser's World of Radio."
