Music from around the world is featured. Bringing the audience into the realm of other cultures through music, hopefully expanding empathy for the “other,” and recognizing that “other” in ourselves. Today: We feature the Trio Joubran, three brothers from Palestine who all play the Middle Eastern/North African lute: the Oud. On these performances they are supported by percussion, and on a couple tracks support the poems and voice of the Palestinian poet, Mahmoud Darwish.
