New radio art works are explored.

4 a.m. – 5 a.m.: "Radio Radio: Piers Plowright"
Piers Plowright worked for thirty years as a BBC producer of dramas, documentaries and innovative features before setting out as an independent producer.

5 a.m. – 7 a.m.: "Shortwave Hours: Velveeta"
Two hours of shortwave radio-oriented programming, starting with solar weather, news on meteor showers and ham radio, and other reports. This week: China is accused of jamming VOA and BBC shortwave broadcasts, we tune in clips. Other reports include:
5:15 a.m.: "The RAIN Report" "A look at the little-used 902 mHz ham band with Kent Britain, WA5VJB."
5:30 a.m., "The Shortwave Report" with host Dan Roberts and international news via shortwave radio. "This week's show features stories from NHK World Radio Japan, China Radio International, Radio Deutsche-Welle, Spanish National Radio, Radio Havana Cuba, and the Voice of Russia."

7 a.m. – 8 a.m.: "Saturday Morning Serial: March In"
Songs about the month of March from Julie London, Iron Maiden, Devo, and others. Plus March radio history from Marconi (first wireless patent, March. 2, 1897; Marconi transmits across English Channel, March 27, 1899), Nathan Stubblefield (demonstrates ship-to-shore broadcast to multiple receivers in Washington, March 20, 1902), and Franklin Roosevelt (President Franklin Roosevelt gives first radio Fireside Chat, about the banking crisis, March 12, 1933). Plus cartoon music, radio skits, and more.

8 a.m. – 10 a.m.: "Open Air: CB Channel 6"
Anyone can contribute, in many ways, to "Open Air." Matt Bua hosts live from the Catskill Community Center. This is a live transmission art show about local transmissions. As many local frequencies, signals, and transmissions will be mixed in. Check in on CB radio, weather radio, shortwave, scanners, cell phones, strings-and-cups, or whatever else we can tune in. You make up the show with stories, phone calls, messages, requests, further information, and more. noon – 2 p.m.: "Selected Songs: Pauline Oliveros"
In honor of Pauline Oliveros, and the 12-Hour Listening Marathon of "Reverberations: Electronic and Tape Music 1961-1970" today at the Deep Listening Space in Kingston, NY, this show will samples some of her sounds.

2 p.m. – 3 p.m.: "Cinema Terrorisme: March 2013"
Cinema Terrorisme Episode 28: Dark armies of marzipan mongoloids create body sculptures of a mushroom cloud resembling an inverted torus holy moldy.

3 p.m. - 4 p.m.: "Human Machine: Emergent Humans"
"Human Machine" is a program that presents projects, sounds, performance and research on the subject of the increasing convergence of humans and technology produced by Max Goldfarb and Jeremy Kelly in alternating weeks. This week, Goldfarb features three short talks by Annalee Newitz, Max More, and Natasha Vita-More.

4 p.m. – 6 p.m.: "Saturday Afternoon Show: Week in Radio News"
Reports from Reuters, The New York Times, Der Spiegel, and The Wall Street Journal claim many recent transmission attacks by China on Western interests. Also, a report Prometheus Radio Project hosts three webinar's for individuals and groups who want to learn more about startering low-power FM radio stations. Free Speech Radio News reports on the U.S. Supreme Court's rejection of a challenge to Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. And, New York City Pacifica Radio station WBAI got locked out of its studio after Hurricane Sandy, but their insurance company, Chubb, won't honor their claim. More radio and meida news.
