Key Bank closing its Hillsdale branch

Richard Moody is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media Key Bank has announced it will close its Hillsdale branch in three months. The small branch, tucked away inside the Hillsdale Super Market on Route 23 with an outdoor ATM, will close the afternoon of June 8. “We are consolidating the branch with the Copake branch at 1674 Route 7A,” Senior Communications Consultant for Capital Region Key Banks Michael Conlin said. “All of our clients have been notified. If there are other branches closer to clients they should feel free to go to those branches.” Other branches, including additional locations in Columbia and Greene counties, could also be shuttered. Conlin said there are no specific plans for additional closures at present. "...[N]othing I can speak to right now," he said. In keeping with Key Bank policy, employees who now work in Hillsdale will be moved to the Copake branch. The consolidation is something Key Bank does regularly based on how close other branches are to each other and how many customers use the branch, Conlin said.
