Temperatures forecast to rise nationwide

Glenn Coin is reporting for NYup [dot] com brutal heat is headed upstate, making the air feel like 100 degrees or more by the weekend. The heat and humidity will build during the week. According to the National Weather Service, dangerously high apparent temperatures are expected on Sat., July 20. Apparent temperature is a reference to the heat index, the combination of air temperature and humidity that makes the air feel more hot to human skin. Locally, hot and humid conditions will develop on from Friday, through Sunday with heat indices potentially exceeding 100 degrees during the afternoon hours. The coming heat wave will consume approximately two-thirds of the country. A total of 20 to 30 record highs are possible over the coming weekend, from the Front Range of the south-central Rockies to the East Coast.
