Ancram assessor retires after 12 years

Diane Valden is reporting for The Columbia Paper town of Ancram officials bid farewell to long-time appointed assessor Ken Leggett, September 19. He served in the position for 12 years. Leggett, a Livingston resident, started working on that town’s highway crew in September 1974. He went on to become the elected assessor there in 1980. He leaves his assessor position in both Ancram and Livingston as of September 30. The Ancram Town Board voted unanimously to appoint longtime Gallatin assessor Rene DeLeeuw to fill the town’s assessor post for a six-year term beginning October 1.
