RV campground gets conditional okay

Jan 28, 2019 12:45 pm
Sarah Trafton is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media the Catskill Town Planning Board recently granted conditional approval of Tiny Tines, the proposed recreational vehicle campground to be built on Cairo Junction Road. The project was approved pending the review of the final site plans and if the campground follows conditions set by the board. The property will be managed by the RV rental company Getaway, which already operates the Little Antlers campground on Castle Road in Catskill. The conditions set by the board include the construction of a five-foot horse fence on the west and north side of the property to prevent trespassing. That fence also must be inspected once a month for damage and any missing sections repaired. The board also imposed other conditions, including 24/7 security on-site, posted quiet hours consistent with the town noise ordinance, and trash removal. All RVs will remain on-site with up-to-date registrations, and if the campground goes out of business the RVs will be removed. The conditions were approved unanimously by the board. Tiny Tines must now receive approval from the state Department of Health and state Pollutant Discharge Elimination System for its sewage system and from the state Department of Environmental Conservation for the stormwater system.
