Valatie mayor takes voluntary pay cut

Barbara Reina reports in the Register Star new Valatie Village Mayor Diane Argyle announced Tues., Apr. 9, she will take a voluntary cut in pay. Argyle will reduce her salary by $1,500 and return the funds to the village budget. The village board rejected trustee salary increases, as well. Also Tuesday, Argyle selected Trustee Frank Bevens to serve as deputy mayor. She also appointed resident Angelo Nero to fill the open trustee seat formerly held by Jennifer Kolb. Dominick Lizzi was appointed to the post of village historian. Lizzi was historian for 16 years, until he was removed from the position following a suspected difference of opinion with then-mayor Gary Strevell. Read the full story in the Register Star.
