Wendy Liberatore is reporting for the Times Union a mother whose 21-month-old baby boy was found unresponsive last June was arrested October 6, and charged with that baby's death, State Police said. Sareese M. Stewart, 30, was charged with second-degree manslaughter for recklessly causing the death of the child, State Police Public Information Officer Trooper A.J. Hicks said. The child was pronounced dead on June 23 at Columbia Memorial Hospital after police and EMS responded to Ten Broeck Lane in Greenport. Police said the subsequent investigation found that Stewart was responsible for the boy's death. Police provided no further details. Stewart is scheduled to appear in Columbia County Court at 9:30 a.m., Thu., Oct. 8. Read more in the Times Union.
