H-TC board adopts $13.9M budget

Jim Planck reports in The Daily Mail the Hunter-Tannersville Central School District Board of Education adopted its budget for the coming school year, Thurs., Apr. 18. The district's 2013-14 spending plan totals nearly $13.9 million, an increase of more than five percent over the current year. The budget will require a four percent tax increase. HTC Superintendent of Schools Dr. Patrick Darfler-Sweeney said the budget development process was not easy. “We have fiscal constraints," he said. At the same time, he stressed, it was a priority to not affect student opportunity for learning. The budget public hearing will be held May 14, at Hunter Elementary School.
