Hochul visits Greene, Columbia counties

As first reported by Akum Norder at Capitol Confidential New York Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul toured economic development grant sites in the village of Catskill and the city of Hudson, Tue., Dec. 15. Katie Kocijanski and John Mason reported in The Daily Mail Hochul's first stop was the future home of the American Dance Institute at the former Dunn Builders and Supply complex on Water Street in Catskill. The Maryland and New York City-based troupe will move to the village in 2018. Following a tour of the site, Hochul said, the project "...will be a major catalyst to bring back the downtown community here in Catskill.” In Hudson, Hochul visited the Hudson Opera House, where she was greeted by Co-executive Director Gary Schiro and received a tour of the historic building. Hochul said she and the governor both recognize that the Opera House has the potential to become "the heart and soul" of the city. She said the state's investment "will pay dividends time and time again." With her visit to Columbia and Greene counties Tuesday, Hochul has now visited every county in the state this year.
