Ulster County DA candidates to meet in newspaper discussion
Patricia R. Doxsey reports in the Daily Freeman that the newspaper will host a discussion Sept. 22 between Emmanuel Nneji and Michael Kavanagh, the candidates for Ulster County District Attorney in this fall's election. Nneji is a Democrat and currently the chief assistant district attorney, under District Attorney David Clegg, who choose not to seek re-election after one term as DA. Kavanagh, running on the Republican and Libertarian lines, was chief assistant district attorney under former District Attorney Holley Carnright. For reasons not explained in the article, the newspaper will not stream the even live, but it will be recorded and posted at dailyfreeman.com after the debate ends. The story does not say if the recording will be edited. Voters can send the newspaper questions for the candidates at pdoxsey@freemanonline.com until Monday, Sept. 18. Indicate “DA debate” in the subject line. Voting begins Oct. 28 and continues through Nov. 7. Read more about this story in the Daily Freeman.
