Mar 23, 2020 7:43 am
Lauren Stanforth reports in the Times Union that Albany County Executive Dan McCoy is "begging" federal government for more testing kits. All Capital Region hospitals are now only testing those who are sickest or are healthcare workers. Albany County has 115 confirmed cases as of March 22. Rensselaer County reported 27 cases, including three new cases of people in their 20s. Saratoga County officials said they have 54 confirmed cases, and Schenectady County reported 32 cases. "We’re calling for more testing kits. We have the shortage and that’s why (hospitals) have stepped back," McCoy said at a press conference March 22. "I’m agreeing with Governor Cuomo to get these testing kits to us. I am begging the federal government, please step up to the plate. Get them so we can continue to find out who has this."
