Greene Co. Probation program clears first hurdle

Ariel Zangla reports in the Daily Freeman Greene County lawmakers have agreed to the county Probation Department’s plan to hire a part-time clerk to oversee the community service program. At a meeting of the county Legislature’s Public Safety Committee Mon., Apr. 8, legislators endorsed a resolution authorizing a budget transfer to fund the part-time position. County Probation Director Alan Frisbee said the clerk would work with municipalities and non-profit organizations to find appropriate sites for people to serve court-ordered community service.
