A panel discussion focused on the ecological and economic complexities of crafting hydrofracking policy, held July 26, 2012 at the Guggenheim Pavilion at the Carey Conference Center in Rensselaerville, N.Y. The event was a special program of the Rensselaerville Festival of Writers, and sponsored by the Huyck Preserve and Biological Research Station and the Carey Center for Global Good. Panelists included: Stu Gruskin, former Deputy Commissioner of NYSDEC; Dr. Erik Kiviat, Executive Director of Hudsonia; Andrew Revkin of the New York Times Dot Earth Blog; and Dr. George Robinson of the University at Albany. Robert Moore, Executive Director of Environmental Advocates of New York, served as moderator. Excerpts from the question and answer portion of the discussion.
