Cairo-Durham Elementary closed Monday

Cairo-Durham Elementary school has cancelled classes Mon., April 9, and other Cairo_Durham schools will begin an hour later that day, as the funeral the Mammano family is held at Our Lady of Knock Shrine in East Durham. Nicholas Mammano; his wife, Mary; and three of their grandchildren, all under the age of 12, died in the April 2 fire on Route 145 in East Durham. The children's father, John Mammano, was in critical condition at the Clark Burn Center in Syracuse. Now June 22, which as a Superintendent’s Conference Day, will be a full school day at the elementary school. Elementary school families can still drop students off for supervision April 9, with breakfast and lunch served.
