Authorities concerned about drones flying over two state prisons

The Mid-Hudson News Network is reporting New York State Police and state prison officials are working to identify who has been flying drones every night over the Sullivan and Woodbourne correctional facilities. The two facilities are located in Sullivan County, less than two miles apart. The flyovers began about one week ago. The devices appear in the late afternoon to early evening and fly as late as 11 p.m. “For safety and security reasons, [the state prison administration] does not permit the usage of a drone over the property lines of a correctional facility,” a spokesman for the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision stated in an email.
