CEDC adds Benson, Keil to board

May 14, 2015 12:02 am
Chelsea Diana in the Albany Business Review reports that the Columbia Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) appointed Mike Benson and Kim Keil to its board of directors. The organization works to bring new businesses and jobs to Columbia County, and to expand the tax base. On April 28, the New York State Authoriities Budget Office released a report which found the CEDC had several potential conflicts of interest in its recent dealings with Ginsberg’s Foods. Benson is president of BCI Construction, Inc. of Albany, and also on the boards of the Associated General Contractors of New York State and the St. Peter's Hospital Foundation, and a supervisor for the Town of New Lebanon. Keil is the sales and marketing director for Valley Energy, a Claverack-based heating and oil company. Keil is also on the Claverack Zoning Board of Appeals, the Claverack Economic Development Committee, and the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce. Full disclosure: The CEDC is an underwriter on WGXC.
