Betting soon at four New York casinos

The Daily Freeman reports that betting on sports at New York casinos got a step closer to reality June 10 as the state's Gaming Commission approved regulations allowing wagers at four casinos. Resorts World Catskills in Monticello, Rivers Casino and Resort in Schenectady, Tioga Downs in the Southern Tier, and Del Lago Resort and Casino in the Finger Lakes got approval, and now tribal casinos are also expected to have betting in time for football season this fall. There is legislation in Albany that would allow betting at sports venues or on mobile devices, but it has not advanced far, with the legislature ending June 19.
