Columbia County Human Services to extend outreach efforts

Aug 08, 2017 12:05 am
Jeanette Wolfberg is reporting in The Columbia Paper the Columbia County Board of Supervisors Human Services Committee wants to get the word out about the 24-hour crisis helpline, 518 828 9446. Those seeking help for opioid abuse, mental health issues, domestic violence and homelessness can call 518 828 9446, 24 hours a day and be referred for emergency services. During regular business hours, the calls are answered at the county Mental Health Center in Hudson. At times outside of regular business hours, the county Sheriff’s Office answers and routes the caller to the appropriate service provider, a licensed behavioral health professional on duty. The committee is currently at work on ways to improve the hotline and has a plan for a publicity campaign to spread awareness of the service. Read the full story in The Columbia Paper.
