Hiking trail in Hunter closed after vandalism

Oct 07, 2019 12:11 am
Steve Hughes reports in the Albany Times Union that the Devil's Path trail in Hunter has been closed from the Pecoy Notch trail to the Twin Mountain summit by the state Department of Environmental Conservation after vandalism along the hiking path. Steel rungs, just installed in August, were vandalized and created a safety hazard along the trail. Hikers can still get to the Twin Mountain summit from the east through the Jimmy Dolan Trail from Prediger Road or through the Devil's Path from Indian Head Mountain. The DEC did not say when the section of the trail will reopen. Read more about this story in the Albany Times Union.
