Mayor, Red Cross going door-to-door Wednesday

John Mason is reporting in the Register Star Hudson Mayor William H. Hallenbeck Jr., along with staff and volunteers from the American Red Cross Eastern New York Region, will be going door-to-door throughout much of Hudson Wednesday (March 4), to distribute information about home fire preparedness and prevention. Residents will also be offered the opportunity to have up to three free smoke alarms installed in their homes by appointment. The effort is in response to the house fire on State St., Sat., Feb. 27, that left 16 people homeless. The Red Cross has provided financial assistance to fire victims to buy food and clothing, and hotel lodging for several days. Read the full story in the Register Star.
