No local Women's Marches this year
Jan 09, 2020 12:11 am
There is no Women's March this year in Hudson, or anywhere else in the Hudson Valley. While there are national marches for the fourth year in a row in Washington D.C., New York City, and many other towns and cities, no one organized an effort in the Hudson Valley. The nearest is the Schenectady Women's Sister March, at 11 a.m. Jan. 18 at Schenectady City Hall. The next closest is the 4th Annual Kent Women's March in Connecticut. The Women's March was organized after President Donald Trump was elected in 2016, and marches were held each year since in Hudson, Woodstock, Albany, and other Hudson Valley towns. There is a protest against a possible war with Iran Jan. 9 at the Chatham Gazebo in the northern Columbia County town. That protest is part of a national day of action organized by MoveOn.org.
