Dec 08, 2018 12:45 am
Chris Bragg and David Lombardo report for the Albany Times Union that while a committee approved major raises for top state officials this week, there are questions about other new rules, the legality of the pay increases, and the impact on legislators with large amounts of outside income. "The fear is that it would diminish the quality of the Legislature," Miller said. Meanwhile, Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, part of the committee recommending the raises and limits on outside income, said that it was "open to question" whether the committee legally could put a limit on outside income.
