Gillibrand says 'doing nothing' about guns is unacceptable

Oct 03, 2017 8:30 am

Bethany Bump is reporting in the Times Union U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand urged voters to hold their representatives accountable if they refuse to pass what she calls “common-sense” gun reforms. Gillibrand made the comments Mon., Oct. 2, following the deadliest mass shooting in American history. The massacre that left at least 59 people dead and more than 500 wounded at a concert in Las Vegas is a “disturbing and painful example” of a Congress that’s “too weak and too cowardly” to stand up to the gun industry, Gillibrand said. “There’s so many things we could work on,” she said. “...But doing nothing is unacceptable.” Read the full story in the Times Union.
